Accommodations at the Lamp Lighter Inn include two charming cottages and four stylish guest rooms, some with fireplaces. All have private baths and private entrances. Sunset House Suites features five guest rooms, all with private baths, wood-burning fireplaces, flat screen TVs, coffee maker, mini refrigerator, iron and ironing board … plus free on-site parking.

We welcome families and groups. Some rooms are pet friendly. Room rate includes a wine and cheese reception from 4-5:30 p.m. Continental Breakfast is served in the Inn’s Den from 8.30 – 10.00: coffee, tea, hot chocolate with marshmallow, bagel, muffins, granola, cereal, milk, orange juice, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs and fruits.

The majestic Big Sur is just a short drive south and the opulent Pebble Beach is adjacent to the north of this Carmel boutique inn. Carmel and Beyond

One of the best ways to see Carmel is on foot. You will discover over 60 hidden courtyards where many specialty shops and cafes are found. You will also find the special charms of Carmel-by-the-Sea as you discover secret pathways, award-winning gardens, and enchanting fairy tale cottages ... the homes, haunts, and history of famous artists, writers, and movie stars. Stroll along the white-sand beach. Or picnic on the bluff tops over looking Carmel Beach and the Pebble Beach golf courses and coastline.

Within 15 minutes, visit Monterey with the famed Monterey Bay Aquarium, Fisherman’s Wharf, Cannery Row as well as many other places of interest. Pebble Beach and 17-Mile Drive are within minutes. While there, meander to Pacific Grove, referred to “America’s last home town.” For a slightly longer trip, sunny Carmel Valley is a treat with ranches and orchards and the Carmel Valley Village with unique shops and restaurants. An hour will take you to Big Sur, which locals often refer to as “a state of mind”. Be prepared for a lovely day and incredible views.

Shopping and Dining
Find a variety of lovely shops, boutiques and visit Carmel Plaza for an exceptional experience. A mile trip to either the Barnyard Shopping Center or Crossroads Shopping Center where you can find unique shops and restaurants should also be on your agenda.
