Carmel-by-the-Sea Pet-Friendly Lodging

All Carmel Boutique Inns are pet-friendly. Carmel is a wonderful place to stay when you travel with your pet. Carmel is one of the most pet-friendly cities in the country, a place where dogs can run free on beautiful Carmel Beach, walk on leash throughout the quaint Carmel-by-the-Sea village and often find water bowls and doggie treats at many of the businesses. Doggie pick-up bags and a spot to wash off your pet after a romp on the beach are located in the Courtyard at each Carmel Boutique Inn.doris day carmel by the sea pet friendly hotel

In the mid-80’s, local business man Dennis LeVett assumed ownership of Cypress Inn, along with beloved actress Doris Day. Ms. Day, whose passion for animal welfare remains strong, insisted that the four-leggeds are as welcome as their humans. Thus, Cypress Inn became Carmel’s original pet-friendly boutique hotel and has garnered national attention as a wonderful gathering place for locals and guests’ alike to meet and mingle alongside their furry friends. Carmel and Beyond

One of the best ways to see Carmel is on foot. You will discover over 60 hidden courtyards where many specialty shops and cafes are found. You will also find the special charms of Carmel-by-the-Sea as you discover secret pathways, award-winning gardens, and enchanting fairy tale cottages ... the homes, haunts, and history of famous artists, writers, and movie stars. Stroll along the white-sand beach. Or picnic on the bluff tops over looking Carmel Beach and the Pebble Beach golf courses and coastline.

Within 15 minutes, visit Monterey with the famed Monterey Bay Aquarium, Fisherman’s Wharf, Cannery Row as well as many other places of interest. Pebble Beach and 17-Mile Drive are within minutes. While there, meander to Pacific Grove, referred to “America’s last home town.” For a slightly longer trip, sunny Carmel Valley is a treat with ranches and orchards and the Carmel Valley Village with unique shops and restaurants. An hour will take you to Big Sur, which locals often refer to as “a state of mind”. Be prepared for a lovely day and incredible views.

Shopping and Dining
Find a variety of lovely shops, boutiques and visit Carmel Plaza for an exceptional experience. A mile trip to either the Barnyard Shopping Center or Crossroads Shopping Center where you can find unique shops and restaurants should also be on your agenda. A variety of wonderful restaurants await your choice. We are also happy to recommend our favorites.

An Artist Town ... Culture in Carmel
